Review: The Demonologist (2019)
By William Pattison
For Horror Bob’s Blog
This time I got a low budget demon hunter film…
Detective Damien Seryph investigates a string of murders
that connects to a group trying to bring forth the 4 King Demons of Hell.
Damien's past connects him to those involved and will force him to become
"The Demonologist".
This film is one of those films that come out through
Uncorked Distribution, which is usually an indication that it is complete crap.
But once in a long while this crap distributor comes out with something that is
at least watchable. This film is one of those even though the reviews on IMDB
say otherwise.
Brian Krause does an ok job as the detective who is destined
to be The Demonologist. The rest of the cast are acceptable, but I doubt you’ll
find any future Academy or Golden Globe winners among them.
The story is the typical detective dealing with demons, it
isn’t as bad as IMDB would lead you to believe. Also the FX and makeup work is
a bit better than the usual Uncorked fare.
So, this film is in
no way art. It is barely even entertaining. To put it simply I won’t recommend
it because I want to lead you to good entertaining films. Acceptable is not
always acceptable…
