Eview: Other Mommy (2026)
By William Pattison
For Horror Bob’s Blog..
This time I’m reviewing a film about a little girl who is
having to deal with a demon that appears in the guise of her mother.
Bela, an 8-year-old girl living in a home with marital
problems, confronts a sinister entity which comes out of her closet. The
presence, whom she calls "Other Mommy," becomes increasingly
threatening to her and her family.
This film really had the potential to be an interesting
combination of horror and fantasy. The problem is the resulting film is a bit
of a mess that doesn’t make a lot of
sense and actually lacks tension. The naudience
don’t learn anything about the little girl, Bella, which is sadly played
marvelously by eight year old actress Arabella Olivia Clark. Also essica
Chastaine does a good job as Bella’s mother and Other Mother. The problem with
this film is all the plot holes and lack of details for the viewer to actually
understand the relationship between Bella and Other Mommy or even any idea of
Other Mommy’s motives. Basically what and why things are happening.
The screenwriters dropped the ball on the writing and basic character
motivation, which is important to the story.
So, with that saild, all in all I rate this film as a HOT MESS!!!!
