Review: Oz (2024)

This time I got you a twisted Italian horror version of The
Wizard of Oz and, oh boy, I get to be the first person to review it…yes, I know
you’re welcome…
Dorothy, battling self-image, is lured by a sinister clown
into a surreal theater world. With the Scarecrow, Tin Woman, and Lion Man, she
uncovers a deceptive Wizard-actually a manipulative doctor. As a dark ritual
looms, the group must choose between obedience or saving Dorothy, confronting
emotional wounds and breaking the Wizard's cycle of pain across Oz and reality.
Ugh, this film is a low budget crap version of the classic
story. Shit, the Scarecrow, Tin Woman (yes I said Tim Woman), and The Lion look
like failed welfair cosplayers who had to grab things from around the house to
make costumes. As for Dorothy, she is a goth girl with the year 1939 in red
letter on her back shirt. For those not in the know 1939 was the year The Wizard
of Oz was released. Also the wizard is a tacky circus clown. I was not
impressed with the lot. The acting was horrid and the dubbing did not even help
this literal nightmare (and not in the right way).(Spoiler) Yes, it turns out
Dorothy and crew are patients in a nut house with a psychiatrist that has a
liking for black magic. Oh, boy…
The production quality makes the worst z grade crapfest look
good. This film was so bad my sister demanded I turn it off on her big screen TV.
I had to finish watching it on my phone, which also didn’t improve it.
To put it simply this film is dog shit.
If you want to suffer you can find it on Tubi TV. I strongly
suggest for your sanity to avoid like the plague. Ok, now I will resume hitting
my head on the wall.
